As a photographer I like to think of myself of a library of knowledge for my clients. I can recommend locations, what to wear, and even what size print to order for their home. And that’s just the beginning. Although I specialize in headshots and corporate events, I still love family portraits — it helps keep me balanced and helps my clients remember why they work so hard everyday. So when I have a stressed-out mom call or email me asking what to wear, I simply reply with one of these templates. It’s not always about being matchy-matchy — it’s about pulling a color and having that be the theme. I like to advise having dad in one color and everyone else in a complementary color, that way it just flows better, and you can use the clothing later on as well.
