Hi Happy first full week of 2014. All over the internet there has been this buzz about having a word or words that will be your guide from the year. After much thought about my last year in business and the struggles we encountered as a family have decided that this years words will be..
1. Develop–I once saw a quote that said “Life is like photography, we DEVELOP from the Negatives”. Well since I started out a film photographer I liked the association, then as I started growing in my business and experienced all of the ups and downs that came along with this journey, I was just amazed at how my photography developed and I, as a person developed.
2. Hungry–There is an old saying that a closed mouth doesn’t get fed. Well I also believe that I need to stay hungry enough in order to grow my business so that I dont lose sight of why I am doing this. I need to provide a better life for my children then the previous year. I want to send them to the best schools, I never want them to worry about financial security, I want my husband to know that all of the overtime he has put in was not in vain. So I stay hungry for more because of them.
3. Balance–I know this may seem oxymoronic based on #2 but I believe, I have to BELIEVE,I can make my own economy and still be home with my children. I can live my life disorganized and upset or I can automate as many of my personal and business task as possible and have time with my children. I still get the same 24 hours as the next mom but the difference is how I it’s all in how I use it.
One of my goals for the New Year is spend more time developing my arts, so I will also be drawing and painting more. This is an image of some fresh new art supplies I just purchased! I am so excited.
