Instagram has made food photography a huge huge thing on social media and in the world of photography. but taking better photos with your phone isn’t as hard as it seems.
The key to photography is lighting. Regardless of what type of camera you’re using it’s always lighting. Many cell phones shoot in auto so you don’t have the whole manual thing to worry about. But they do have an exposure compensation setting on the screen that you can use to adjust the image. When I showed this to my sister who is team iPhone she was amazed because she didn’t know what it did prior.
I use this tiny LED one that I found on Amazon it’s perfect! It offers so much light it fits in my wallet and holds a charge for weeks! It’s great because you don’t have to use the flash on your phone. This LED also works handheld so you can position it anywhere you need it and like I said it’s bright enough you won’t be at a loss for light.
So here’s how you do it. Go to your favorite restaurants ask for a window seat (one that doesn’t have direct sunlight). Order your favorite dish. Take out your phone and snap a few pictures in different angles when the food arrives. When I say a few different angles you can see the examples below. One straight one, one over the top and one on an angle.
