Camera or Lens which one?

50-mm-lens

I am often asked by newer photographers what they should invest in and my answer is always the same
if you can afford either a new camera or a new lens only, GET THE LENS! Keep in mind that the lens will improve your photos before the camera body will.
Shooting with a kit lens? Upgrade FAST! Why because most kit lenses only have an aperture opening of 5.6 which really is not a lot of light for your standard indoor settings. If you are just starting out or looking to upgrade from a point and shoot and have not purchased your camera yet, my suggestion is purchasing the camera body-only (forget the kit lens) and the 50mm f/1.8. It is a great place to start and is fabulous in all lighting situations. It is called “The Nifty Fifty” because it is sharp, fast, a handy focal
distance, and extremely affordable. I think I purchased mine for $125.00 and this included the store warranty.
