I met Charles Weeks for the first time when I showed up to do his head-shots at American Executive Centers in Center City Philadelphia last year. I was caught off guard, not only is handsome he’s intelligent and knows his way around a financial portfolio too. He’s worked hard to build his firm and the energy that he displays is contagious Check out his story and if you’re in need of some advice visit his site and set up an appointment Barrister Wealth Management
In 2010 I decided that I was going to start my own Financial Planning and Investment Management Firm, Barrister Wealth Management, LLC. I only had two very small problems, I had hardly any savings and I was over $200,000 in student loan debt from undergrad and Law School. At 31 years old I moved back home and into my parent’s house, and got a job waiting tables. For two years I worked every day, all day, if I wasn’t working at the restaurant I was working in the business. I built out everything on my own because I couldn’t afford to hire anyone, this included an awful looking website, which has since been updated. For many years after launching I still worked every day but I was able to quit waiting tables after those first couple years! Over seven years later I can say Barrister Wealth Management, LLC is a success and is thriving, growing year after year. What I learned from this experience is that if you have a dream/idea you just have to do it, successful people do things, they don’t just keep talking about doing things. Also, you must be willing to persevere, in business and in life, there are very few guarantees in life but I will guarantee you this, you will have good times and bad times and how you choose to respond to those bad times will determine the type of life you lead.
