Feature Friday is something new I have started here. It is my way of showcasing other small businesses that I either want to work with or admire the hell out of. When I met Tina at a networking event she immediately blow my mind. I have never met anyone that had so energy and a love of life, and when she told me she was a newborn photographer I new right then I had to feature her.
See I don’t, let me repeat that I don’t photograph newborns. I am so not a baby person it is not in my DNA, not even when Maddie and Cris were little did I photograph them. But photographers like Tina are SPECIAL. They are like the Baby whisperers. Babies are like putty in their hands. So if you are wanting a truly fantastic experience you need to call her.
this is her feature story!
A special thanks to Wanda for asking me to write this post… it was a pleasure meeting her at the Femfessionals Summer Social.
While getting to know Wanda she learned that I love newborn sessions! I mean really love them!! Heart skips a beat while posing them kinda love. I loved learning about what she was most passionate about too. As photographers it is great when we can bond and work together, finding ways to help each other succeed.
Wondering when to start looking for a newborn photographer? I think it’s never too early to start after you learn the exciting news!
Did you know that even though a baby is technically considered a newborn for 28 days that there is only a small window to shoot a posed newborn session. I personally prefer to do newborn sessions between the 5-8 day mark. They are only this little for a little while and those cute sleepy poses can best be achieved before 10 days and at the latest 14.
Something you will need to decide is what type of session you are looking for. Do you only want the pictures that many hospitals offer, do you want a more lifestyle session that takes place in your home, or are you looking for a posed session. I specialize in the posed session and love modeling little ones into curly womb like poses, I also love set up’s that include mom and dad. Images of you cuddling your new baby are moments that will be treasured forever.
Newborn sessions are a lot longer than normal sessions and can take up to 4 hours. I offer sessions in my home studio or I will travel to your home. These sessions require lots of patience from the photographer as well as the parents. Be sure to review your photographer’s portfolio before you choose whom to hire. You want to be sure that your vision of what you want for your session is what the photographer is offering. Please also be sure that your photographer practices safe posing.
My goal is to create timeless images for you to remember this amazing time in your lives.
