How I Plan a Month of Instagram in a Day
GOALS FIRST, PLAN SECOND
The best place to start (as with ANYTHING) is with your GOALS. After knowing where you’re going, you have to know WHO your target audience is. You’re going to put all that together and list some of your favorite current clients and some potential clients that would be perfect for your brand. List them on your planner.
DEFINE YOUR BRAND
Next, list off some words that best describe your brand. Some of mine are smart, sassy, fun, polished, and professional. Every one of your posts should embody at least one of these descriptor words.
You’re also going to brainstorm reasons why people want & need what you’re selling. Also, think about what makes you different. From this, you will polish up your Instagram Bio to make sure it’s really clear who you are and what you do. If you aren’t clear, your audience won’t know what you do and won’t trust you.
SCHEDULE TIME TO CONNECT WITH POTENTIAL FOLLOWERS
Your next step is going to have you start planning out how you are going to engage and grow your audience. List off other Instagram Accounts & Brands that are aligned with your own brand. People that have similar audiences to you. Spend time every single day connecting with THEIR followers. If you build it, they will not come- you have to TELL them about it.
Next, list the hashtags your ideal audience is using and spend time every day going through and liking images using these hashtags. You are being active and engaged on other people’s IG feeds to hopefully send them to yours and if they like what they see, they will follow you!
WHAT & WHEN TO POST
Lastly, when creating your own content, Iconosquare seems to be the go-to platform to figure out the best times to post each day. I personally use Buffer and it provides similar analytics. You have to find one that works for you and your workflow. Next list the hashtags you want to use for your own posts so they can be found within various communities. Choose the color palette and fonts and create your own content with photographs, quotes, and graphics you can create on Canva. As a professional photographer, I use Photoshop and Lightroom to handle all of my edits. That being said, I love the ease of Canva with their pre-made templates, and such it makes my workflow so easy and quick.
When you’re done leave me a comment or tag me in the post so I can follow up back and see what you’ve done. I love following amazing IG influencers.
