Today I’m writing this post with a very specific client in mind. Steve Ziegler over at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries. He has upped not only his organization IG game but also his business at Starving Artist Prevention IG account. He has been such a great study. He’s taken all of my advice and learned some stuff on his own as well! He knew that in order to grow and gain clients and donors he needed visibility and he’s using Instagram stories to do that. I love this and he’s not afraid to try different things (we call that A/B testing in social media land). His numbers are up and every day is a new social media adventure. So this post is dedicated to Steve, Mercy and all entrepreneurs and nonprofits everywhere!
I hear and read it all of the time, people, business owners asking what is this thing called Instagram Stories.
How can small business owners use Instagram Stories?
1.Highlight your very own events:
Did you recently host an event and want to highlight what happened or did you speak and want to remind your audience or potential followers that you are an expert? The key to this is to think like a Creative Director. When holding your phone remember no rapid movement, position yourself in the best lit places so people can see and hear you and even though you want to pan around to show off the event do it slowly, don’t give people cell phone vertigo
2.What to highlight:
DIY crafts, recipes, behind the scenes of your next photos session how you prep for your next session or a team building session if you have employees.
3.Promote your next e-course:
Show your audience that you have something to offer them by Highlighting it. You can use stories as part of your next launch.
4.Highlight a Blog Post:
Use stories to promote your latest or a cornerstone post.
5. Show it off
Instagram, like all social media outlets, is all about being social and relationships. this is why Facebook’s recent announcement is so huge. Connecting, getting like-minded people to connecting and engaging with you and your content if your account is about homeschooling, highlight an educational project that you and your kids are working on, science: volcanos making a moldy slice of bread. SHOW OFF YOUR LIFE.
feel free to tag us in your instastories with us we love watching these!
