I grew up in a rather stable family. Although my parents were separated I never had to wonder when and if I was ever going to see either of them again. That is not the case for tens of thousands of children in the United States and Abroad. As a photographer I get a certain joy from the pure innocent smile of children and the happiness they bring to this world. Every time they smile, or don’t, for my camera it brings out a joy in me that I thought died YEARS ago.
When I found out that April is the Month of The Military Child from a Photographer friend, Stacy at http://www.momentstomemoriesbystacy.com/ I could not help but particate in this wonderful idea that she had. She asked a few friends if we would send a letter to her children with a sheet of stickers, having children of my own and knowing the value of the mail to them I was more than happy to oblige. I have taken this project a step further by asking a few other moms that I know if they would like to help out and the response was phenomenal! In the interest of minor children and to avoid having the Military come and knock down my door I am keeping all addresses private. I will only provide first names to allow for making the letters and cards personal.
If you are interested in taking part in this project all you have to do is have your child write a letter or card and place a sheet of stickers inside. THAT IT!!! Oh and send it to me. I have kids too so you are going to have to email me for the mailing address my email is [email protected]
