Own the slow Season

blogging· business

  • Networking in Queen

Follow up with past clients, people you’ve met at events and your LinkedIn connections. Create a survey via Jot forms or Google Forms and get feedback if you haven’t already.  If you have clients that you know would be a good fit for each other connect them.  They will remember you thought enough about them to send a client or business their way and this will help you stand out from the crowd.

  • Update Your branding

This includes your marketing collateral, Website, and print material. As a photographer and blogger I take lots of photos throughout the year so of course, I have a lot of photos in my inventory.  You may be a writer for a local magazine and need to refresh your blog with that content. Nows the time to do that.

  • Build /Update your courses-

I’ve learned that as an entrepreneur you need multiple streams of income. The best time to work on building those streams is when business is slow.  Winter for me is when things tend to slow down so I review my notes from the year and see where I can improve my previous offerings or create something new.

  • Get your financial house in order.

Why wait till March to get your taxes in order. If your experience a lull in business during the summer months that is the perfect time to start working on your taxes. Create a spreadsheet and start going through your ban and credit card statements and import your expenses. I know I know its not something that you want to spend your time doing when the sun is shining and the waves at the shore are calling but TRUST ME, when tax season rolls around you will be glad you took the time to start this process and knock out the first 6 months of the year.

  • Work on your portfoi
