So Guys, we’re in the fist week of October and it’s that time of year where women everywhere are planning for one of the following Events:
- Halloween,
- Thanksgiving,
- Christmas,
- a Wedding
- FALL Family Portraits.
As a wife and mom even I find this behavior a little questionable. My husband says that the fall was made for Football. I don’t know if believe that to be true or not either but I will tell you this, If you want your Sundays happy from now till Superbowl Sunday you need to start thinking paying attention to what your Wife wants and the craziness that is about to undertake your life soon. And I’ll give you a few tips on prepping for the upcoming Holiday Season too!

Ok so you know I’m right!!! Let me tell you why. Family portraits are important to her because you two are building something together, a LIFE, raising little humans and rightly so she wants to capture it and put it on a Holiday card for all the world to see. Yeah she can do it herself with the camera you gave her for Mother’s Day but it’s kinda like cooking dinner at home versus going out on a Saturday night. When you go out SOMEONE ELSE takes care of all of the details and just show up in your best dressed outfit. Family portraits are the same way. Kids are always on their best behavior for the photographer, they might be shy but that quickly wears off. Or when you take out the trash without her having to ask you, that’s what THIS is like. It just make her happy.
~Prepay for the Holiday Cards
When you contact your Photographer let them know that you want holiday cards. This person should be able to show you samples and being the Super Cool Husband I know you are you’ll go for the Lux brand, and advise her on a vertical and horizontal style so your wife only has to make the final style selection! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! You just earned #HUSBANDOFTHEYEAR
When you look back you will appreciate having a pro handle the day, you’ll be less stressed too. You know your wife just as well as I do, The weeks leading up to your session she’s going to make a fuss over what to wear and Johnny and Missy fighting in the car before the session and so many other things. So here are a few bonus tips make an appointment for her with a makeup artist, grab her a cappuccino from Starbuck and bring the shirts she wants the kids to wear for their portraits on a hanger and dress them at the location. Hold her hand and tell her you’re looking forward to the day. Because in the end these are your memories too.
