These are my children, Maddie and Cris. Affectionately called The MadCris Team they are 5 and 7 and my soul reason for staring this business. It was in the hospital during Maddie’s birth that this business was started. The hospital didn’t have a newborn photographer and since I was going to be there for 4 day what better time then now to start was my philosophy. Every decision I make is personal and emotional because it affects these 2.
Pricing, who my target client is and what hours I will work, is all decided I value the time I spend with my children. Being a mom and business owner was a choice and I choose a lifestyle for my kids where they will see hard work and the rewards that come from it as something that you can be proud of. Nothing is easy and building a business takes a lot of work, time, sweat and tears. You will want to give up EVERY SINGLE DAY but you can’t, It’s part of your DNA and those that do never really had it in them to begin with.
As they have gotten older some decisions are easier some harder it’s a balance, it will always be a balancing act. I remember to take time for me, put systems in place for my business and yes household and say no to things that no longer serve me. I don’t want to spend my Saturday afternoons cleaning when I can be in the park playing with the kids. Is it easy NOT AT ALL but it’s fun and something that I would not trade for all the rice in Puerto Rico.
