I have made a pretty good living as a headshot photographer but it saddens me when clients don’t update their profile photos EVERYWHERE. So I’m going to share with you how and where to use your profile pictures because let be honest, my service is not cheap. I know this because you tell me that cost is the reason you don’t get your headshot updated as often as you’d like. So here are a few ways OTHER THAN LINKEDIN to use your headshot picture.Media kits-everyone should have a media kit. It’s a resume of your business. It has your social media stats like followers from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and your Blog along with any other social media outlet you are ACTIVE on.
- Email signatures- I love getting emails where someone adds their headshot. I think it adds a bit more of human connection to an otherwise automated process.
- E-Books- You are an expert in your field go write a book, have it published and use that headshot on your book cover
- Marketing and promotional material.
- HARO- Help a reporter out is a service that you subscribe to where they send out 3 emails a day with queries asking for articles. I wrote a blog post the other day on the best practices for this service but in the end, you need to keep your headshot on hand in case the reporter needs it for their article, which often happens.
