I have always wanted to host a fundraiser. In my head I had visions of ballrooms and centerpieces and tables upon tables of glorious food and drinks. Well truth be told I am a small business owner and mother of 2 beautiful children. I am also a full time student and I have a husband that is not home for almost 2 weeks out of the month and I love shooting so much that i lose track of time, so the reality of it is that as much as I want to put together a swanky shindig I choose to spend my time with my babies baking cupcakes and taking pictures of families.
But I am still determined! I am going to hold a Lupus Fundraiser because can’t no body tell me I can’t! That’s as ghetto as I get. What’s my plan…. MINI SESSIONS! The Philadelphia Chapter ofLupus Organization is asking everyone to Wear their PURPLE on Firday 5/17/2013 so that’s when I will be hosting my first day of mini sessions. These are for the after work crowd. They will be starting at 5:30pm and running till about 7:30ish at McMichael Park located on 3904 Henry Ave.
10% of all session fees will be donated to the Lupus Foundation. I was diagnosed with Lupus 27 years ago as a result of an adverse reaction to a seizure medication that I was taking, so this is something that is near and dear to me and my family as well as some very close friends of ours.
I will be providing Ice Cream and bottled water and am waiting to hear back from a few others vendors as well for other refreshments.
The cost of the Mini Session is slave$150 for 20 minutes each family will receive 3 digital files and 3 printed 5×7 on our signature linen paper.
This will be a fun after work outing and a great cause.
